Roger S. Putnam

Dr. Roger S. Putnam received his PhD in electromagnetics from MIT with graduate work in nonlinear signal processing, guided wave systems, and pulsed lasers. At Aerodyne he has designed and built an obstacle detection and navigation system for blind people, a low cost 3ppb NO2 sensor based on optical matched filters and LED sources, an electronic engine controller for 'free piston' 2-cycle engines which have no crankshaft, a complex data display and recording system for helicopter turbine engine tests, a fully automated widely tunable laser based mid-IR gas detection system, and a variety of optical and accelerometer sensor systems.
