Postdoctoral Research Scientist Position

The Center for Aerosol and Cloud Chemistry (CACC) at Aerodyne Research, Inc. in Billerica, MA is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated atmospheric scientist to work on carbonaceous aerosol experiments and to help with instrument development of our Soot Particle Aerosol Mass Spectrometer (SP-AMS) and related techniques.

Specific projects may include laboratory studies of tar balls and black carbon containing particles and field work measuring biomass burning plumes. Instrument development projects characterizing the chemical information from the SP-AMS will be an important component. 

Requirements: Ph.D. in chemistry, aerosol physics, atmospheric sciences or a related discipline. The ideal candidate works well in group settings, and has excellent written and oral communication skills.  Aerosol mass spectrometer experience is desirable.   Other relevant experience may include:  mass spectrometry, aerosol instrument development, and laboratory and/or field experience characterizing the chemical, physical, and optical properties of carbonaceous particles.

Entry Level Engineer/Technician

Aerodyne Research, Inc. The Center for Aerosol & Cloud Chemistry, is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated hands on individual to join our team.

In this position, you will be responsible for mechanical and electrical assembly of state of the art scientific instruments used for the study of air quality and atmospheric chemical processes.

Qualified candidates must possess a B.S. degree in engineering, strong electro-mechanical skills, solid soldering skills, very good attention to detail, good communication skills and previous experience working with printed circuit boards, basic electronic components, oscilloscopes, multimeters and use of schematic capture and PCB design software.

Facility Security Officer (FSO)

Aerodyne Research, Inc. (ARI), a small R&D company has been providing research and development services and advanced instrument and software products to industrial, academic and government customers addressing national and international environmental, energy and defense challenges for 46 years.

We are currently seeking a Facility Security Officer (FSO) for our office in Billerica, MA. This position requires 16-24 hours per week.   

Qualified candidates must possess prior experience as a FSO or as an
Assistant, and hold/maintain a current S or TS security clearance.  

ARI's FSO manages and implements measures and procedures for various facility functions to meet compliance with Federal Industrial Security requirements.  

These functions include but are not limited to:

•    Maintaining staff security clearances (PSQ),
•    Information System (secure computer) certifications, Audit and upkeep
•    Classified document control
•    COMSEC account maintenance
•    Visitor control and staff security education.  

The FSO interacts with ARI senior management as required to define and adapt company practices to comply with the evolution of NISPOM and DSS directed operating procedures.
