In cooperation with Professor Celia Faiola of the University of California Irvine, Aerodyne researchers are studying aerosol formation from live California sage plants. For three weeks, California-grown Salvia mellifera are living in a miniature environmental chamber. Plant emissions are passed through an oxidation flow reactor, after which the aerosol and gas-phase products are measured with a suite of state-of-the-art Aerodyne instrumentation, including an LTOF-AMS, FIGAERO-CIMS, and Vocus 2R PTR.
